Garmin Edge data field coming
Storia reads the story of a ride on one screen: efficiency factor, aerobic decoupling, power retention, a neutral pedal balance, and an honest draft estimate of what you save in the wheel.
Coming to the Garmin Connect IQ store (Edge 1050).
Durability and efficiency, framed as personal trends — never a verdict on your body.
Efficiency factor (power per heartbeat) and how much you drift on a long, steady effort.
Efficiency factor is a personal trend, not a benchmark — compare it to your own past, not to other riders. Decoupling is only meaningful on a steady ride; Storia only colours it there, as a coaching guideline.
After Friel; efficiency/decoupling are trends, not lab values. How well you hold power deep into the ride, and a neutral left/right balance meter.
Pedal balance is shown as a neutral number — no good/bad colour, no symmetry “target”. Durability (fatigue resistance) is emerging science with no consensus thresholds; Storia presents our reading, not “the standard”.
Durability is emerging: Maunder et al. (2021).Roughly how much you save sitting in the wheel — by comparing your real power to the solo power for your speed.
The draft figure is a model (air + rolling + gravity + wind), so it’s always shown with “≈”. CdA, rolling resistance and bike weight are assumptions. It needs a power meter.
Model: Martin et al. (1998).Storia leans on power; without it the power-based sections step aside cleanly.
Efficiency, decoupling, retention and the draft estimate all read. Pedal balance needs ANT+ pedals.
An honest “no power meter” note replaces the power sections; cadence/HR context still shows.
Everything here is a trend or a model, not a lab measurement — efficiency is personal, decoupling needs steady riding, draft is an estimate. Pedal/ANT+ figures can only be verified on the bike.

An Edge 1050 and a power meter (ANT+ pedals for balance). intervals.icu supplies your zones and weight; wind needs the companion connection.
English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish — labels switch with your device language; units and metric abbreviations stay neutral.
